The Luther League in America was founded in 1895 in Pittsburgh, PA. After the formation of the United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA) in 1920 the Luther League became the official youth organization of that body.
The organization provided opportunity for youth involvement in the church and served as an important vehicle of instruction, inspiration, and fellowship. The Luther League also assisted in the development of intersynodical friendships and in promoting the merger that created the ULCA.
