Biographical / Historical
The Joint Commission Lutheran Unity (JCLU) was a Lutheran cooperation of participating Lutheran church bodies established in 1955 to begin discussion to merge into one church. The JCLU finalized its merger in 1962, forming the Lutheran Church in America (LCA) which joined together the United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA), Augustana Synod, Suomi Synod, and the American Evangelical Lutheran Church (AELC)
