Biographical / Historical
Reverend Herbert W. Jr. was born June 28, 1919. He attended Gettysburg College (A.B. 1940), Gettysburg Seminary (1943), Union Seminary (1944), Columbia University (1944, 1948), Gettysburg Seminary (1949), University of North Carolina 1950-1952, George Washington University, 1960. He was ordained in the Central PA Synod 1943. He was pastor of St. John, Mercersburg, PA (1943-45), Chaplain, U.S.N (1945-46); Holy Trinity, Raleigh, NC (1950-52); Trinity, Camp Hill PA (1952-1960). He taught homiletics courses at LTSG and was Director of Field Education, Registrar, Dean of Students, Dean of the Seminary, and Director of Counseling services. He retired in 1989 and died October 10, 2000.
