Biographical / Historical
The Rev. Dr. Richard Charles Wolf was born on August 2, 1912 in Dayton, Ohio. He was a 1934 alumnus of Gettysburg College and a 1937 alumnus of the Gettysburg Seminary. He was a Lutheran minister in the LCA, ordained by the Susquehanna Central Synod in 1937. He pastored First, Plymouth, Ohio from 1937-1941. He earned his Ph.D from Yale in 1947. He was a professor at the Gettysburg Seminary from 1942-1949, at Yale Divinity School from 1949-1958, and the Graduate School of Theology, Oberlin from 1958. He was also a professor of religion at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. He died October 1, 1984 (aged 72), in Nashville, Tennessee.
