Biographical / Historical

Ellis Beaver Burgess was born in Ft. Louden, PA on November 19, 1869 the sone of Andrew and Sarah (Beaver). He graduated from Gettysburg Seminary in 1893, licensed by the Maryland Synod in 1893 and ordained by the Pittsburgh Synod in 1863. He was a member of the Executive Board of U.L.C.A., 1922-1930 and 1932-1940; member Executive Committee National Lutheran Council, 1930-1941, president 1937-1941. He died December 20, 1947.
