Biographical / Historical

Rev. John Toms Gladhill was born on December 2, 1846 in Myersville, MD, the son of James and Caroline (Miller) Gladhill. He was educated at Gettysburg College (1870) and Gettysburg Seminary (1873). He was licesnsed by the Maryland Synodd in 1872 and ordained by the N. Illinois synod in 1873. Gladhill served as pastor of Empire, IL (1873-1875), Conroy, OH (1875-1878), Luthersburg, PA (1878-1882), Smicksburg, PA (1882-1886), Newport, PA (1886-1891) Jersey Shore, PA (1891-1898), Conshohockem, PA (1898-1902). He married Nannie M White on June 5, 1873. Gladhill died on Jan 12, 1902.
