Scope and Contents
This collection documents the activities of Rev. Braden E. Shaner. Included are lecture notes, sermons, textbooks from his personal collection, correspondence, early school records, photographs, and presentation materials from his descendants donated in 2009 and 2013.
The records are arranged in 3 series: 1) Lecture Notes and Sermons, 2) Textbooks, and 3) Miscellaneous and Family Presentations.

Biographical / Historical
Rev. Braden Edwin Shaner was a Lutheran pastor that served in Pennsylvania and Indiana. He graduated from Pennsylvania College in 1886 and Gettysburg Seminary in 1889. He was called to Pittsburgh Synod in 1889 and ordained the same year. He served in Punxsatawney, PA from 1889-1891; Callensburg, PA 1891-1897; Logansport, IN, 1897-1900; and Tarentum, PA, 1900-1910. He married Anna Rebecca Deitterer on August 14, 1889 and had ten children. He died on October 2, 1910.
