Biographical / Historical
Rev. Raymond Thomas Stamm was a professor at Gettysburg Seminary from 1926 until retirement in 1962. He was editor of The Lutheran Quarterly, 1926-1927 and The Lutheran Church Quarterly, 1928-1948; contributor to articles in The Interpreter’s Bible, Hasting’s One-Volume Dictionary of the Bible and numerous articles in The Lutheran Church Quarterly and other magazines.
Rev. Stamm born on March 16, 1894 in McEwensville, PA to Jacob Calvin and Lydia (Long) Stamm. He received an A.B. from Gettysburg College in 1920; a Bachelor of Divinity from Gettysburg Seminary in 1923; and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1926. He was ordained by the Illinois Synod in 1926. He died on April 25, 1962.
