Biographical / Historical

The Luther Institute (TLI) was founded on November 10, 1983 by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) and the Lutheran Church in America (LCA) as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3). The institute’s purpose is to encourage Lutheran college and university students to learn in Washington D.C., present opportunities for professors and staff of Lutheran schools, and to sponsor seminars as continuing education for clergy and laity
